What is Daymocracy Camp? Daymocracy Camp is a one-day camp on June 8th for Washingtonians under the age of 35 interested in making change in their communities.

Want to get involved in politics, but not sure what opportunities are out there? Interested in working on an issue in your community, but unsure of where to start? Or maybe you just want to hone your organizing skills to make your work that much better? Then you’re in the right place.

Daymocracy Campers will leave the day (the best day of your life, probably) with a rad new network of friends/organizers/leaders, a thorough introduction to the basics of campaigns and community organizing, and a broader understanding of the opportunities for young leaders to impact Washington State politics.

Folks who participate in Daymocracy Camp are officially on the Bus. After the day, we’ll connect you to staff expertise, resources, and networks who can help you achieve your vision.

Who should apply? We are looking for participants who fit the following criteria:

Are under 35 years old

Are apart of a community or group that you are interested in organizing

Are connected to Washington State

Have an idea how you want to impact your community (doesn’t have to be too specific – we can help you refine your ideas)

Where? Bus Camp will take place in Seattle. We have a limited number of homestays available for participants coming from outside the greater Seattle area.

Why Daymocracy Camp? Three reasons: 1) Whether you went to camp as a young’n or not, you now have the chance to live/re-live the glory! 2) To convene experts from across the progressive community to share core skills and experiences that young organizers can apply right away to engage their peers on important issues. 3) To connect young organizers around the state with each other to share ideas, resources, and dreams for making Washington a radder (totally a word) place than ever.

What does the day look like? The day will be jam packed with trainings, games, and delicious food. Registration starts at 8:30am and the day will start at 9am sharp! The day will end with a group BBQ from 5:30-7:00pm The Bus will provide snacks, lunch, and dinner. Votebot will also likely be in attendance.

How do I sign up? Applications to participate are rolling and close May 26th. You can apply right here.

What does it cost? The program fee is $25 to cover costs. However, this program is pay-what-you-can. No one is turned away due to a lack of funds.
