National Voter Registration Day

National Voter Registration Day is September 22, 2015. Update your registration today!

Tuesday, September 27, 2016 is a big day here in Washington and at the Washington Bus. It is (hold your breath) National Voter Registration Day (or NVRD)!

NVRD

National Voter Registration Day is a national campaign to ensure that everyone in our community – friends, family, your beloved barista, and your pals on the social medias – have updated voter registrations.

What can you do for National Voter Registration Day?

    • Update your voter registration at www.registerinwa.org
    • Tell all your friends and networks: "Hey, it's National Voter Registration Day. Is your voter registration up to date? No? Not sure? Update your registration at registerinwa(dot)org."
    • If you're in the social media hash tagging business we'll be rocking #RegisterinWA and #CelebrateNVRD

Why National Voter Registration Day?

    • We're human. In 2008, 6 million Americans did not vote because they either missed a deadline or simply did not know how to register to vote.
    • Reminders Work. Last year 300,000 Americans registered to vote on National Voter Registration Day.
    • It Promotes Better Elections. The Bus is part of a movement to modernize our election systems and the more folks engaged in our elections make it easier for legislators and elections administrators to listen to all people in Washington.
