Development Director

Job Title: Development Director
Position Status: Full-Time, Exempt, Permanent Position
Location: Seattle, WA (Hybrid Remote)

Full Time Salary Range: $80,000-$105,000 depending on experience
Team: Development

The Development Director will report to the Executive Director and will play a crucial role in spearheading, strengthening, and scaling The Washington Bus’s fundraising efforts in support of our mission. Working closely with the Executive Director and Bus leadership team, the Development Director will be a co-creator in mapping out a shared vision, executing ambitious fundraising goals, and developing achievable strategies for sustainability and growth. This person will lead fundraising and donor stewardship for a $1-$2 million annual budget across the three organizational entities that make up the Washington Bus: 501(c)(3), 501(c)(4), and State PAC. The Development Director will start as the sole dedicated Development professional on the team, and will play a key role in leading, managing, and mentoring current Program and Communications staff in development projects with the goal of hiring additional development staff in the future.

The ideal candidate has 5-7 years of experience and established relationships in progressive political fundraising, as well as 3-5 years of experience managing teams and direct reports. This person is passionate about building youth political power and developing future leaders, possessing a deep analysis and understanding of the organization’s mission. They are an ambitious systems thinker around organizing money who will thrive on an opportunity to be innovative, execute new strategies, translate a vision into action, and move teams and donors
