FAQ

How can I get to the Capitol?

There are several different ways you can get to the Capitol in Olympia. You can catch a ride with us via a bus in Seattle or Yakima (pick-up location to be determined closer to the event and will send info based on registration). Additionally, if you’re unable to catch a ride with us, you can meet us in Olympia at this address (906 Columbia St SW #201 Olympia, WA 98501) via carpooling or public transit for workshops before the party and lobbying!

Do I need to be a registered voter or a U.S. Citizen to lobby?

No, you do not! All are welcome to join us and lobby, regardless of voter or immigration status!

What are the parking arrangements?

There is paid street parking available for those who choose to drive themselves or carpool with others. The meters only take coins, so make sure to have some spare change on hand. There is additional paid parking on the Capital campus off Angle Dr and SE Angle Dr. Card payments are accepted for Capital campus parking, but parking does fill up quickly as others are coming to the Capital to do the same thing as you.

Is there room to check my bags/store my items?

Yes, we’ll all be checking in at the Washington Students Association’s (WSA) Office: 906 Columbia St SW #201 Olympia, WA 98501 where all your personal belongings with be safely stored during the day.

What is the dress code?

There are no official dress codes for this event (or for any of our events as a matter of fact) so come as you are, you can join us dressed up in a suit, business casual, or in your everyday wear! It is up to you how you want to present yourself in the Legislature. Just keep in mind the weather when preparing.

What is the expected weather?

Since it’s Western Washington, you can expect it to be cold, wet, and even rainy. Even though we’ll be inside most buildings in the Capital campus, we’ll also be spending quite a bit of time outside as well, so come prepared to take on the elements as well.

How do I let you know about my special dietary requirements?

You’ll be able to provide us that information on the registration form!

Is there a payment for registration?

No

Are there any age restrictions for registration?

This event is captured for young people, so we are looking to have folks ranging from 16-24 years of age sign up!
